While importing Starter Templates, does the popup say – “Disable Debug Mode“? If yes, here’s why and how you can clear it.
Why Disable the Debug Mode?
This notice pops up if you have WordPress debug mode enabled on your website. This mode helps to catch all errors, notices, and warnings on your website. This might interrupt the import process.
There are two methods available to disable the debug mode in WordPress. You can choose the one that aligns with your preferences:
Method 1: Editing the wp-config.php File
You can clear this by simply disabling debug mode on your website. To disable it, just add the following line of code in the wp-config.php file.
Please add this code before the “That’s all, stop editing! Happy publishing” line:
define('WP_DEBUG', false);
Save the file and refresh the Starter Templates interface on the front end. Try importing the template again.
Method 2: Disable Debug Mode Using a Plugin
If you don’t want to want to tamper with your wp-config.php file, you might want to consider an alternative way to turn off debug mode.
For this, we use plugins such as WP Debugging.
- Install and activate the WP Debugging plugin.
- Post-installation, click on Plugin Settings.
To disable the debug mode:
- Unselect the checkbox next to Set WP_DEBUG to true.
- Select the checkbox next to Set WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY to false, default is true.
- Click on the Save Changes button.
Now, if you try to import the starter templates again, you won’t encounter the error popup. For example:
